Utimi Bondage Set
Lets be honest here – I practice bondage. I enjoy immobilizing people – mostly women – with different methods: rope, straitjackets, straps, you name it. My main issue with this kink is the crazy high prices of some of these products. Hey, I enjoy restraining people, but $40 for 15 ft of rope? Sorry, I’m broke!
So when my friends from Utimi offered me to review their 11-in-1 BDSM Bondage Set, I gladly agreed. This set sells for less than $30 (about $27 when writing this post) and includes all you need to get your feet wet with BDSM – including bondage, submission, impact, and sensation play. That is what I call a round value!
The main issue with these types of sets tend to be the quality of the items. Is the Utimi Set a good value with decent quality items? The only to find out is testing it, so LETS GO TO THE REVIEW!
First Impressions
I got this package from Utimi’s Amazon store, so it shipped in the famous smiling box. Inside, there was an elegant black and red bag with “Utimi Magic Gift” written on the front. Initially, I was baffled about this “magic gift” – after all, I’m not a big fan of Harry Potter -, but realized the contents as soon I felt the contours of a familiar rope bundle.
I was happily surprised by the number and variety of items included in this kit. Although it is sold as a BDSM Bondage Kit, the contents allow you to experiment not only basic bondage, but submission, sensation play and impact play. Basically, it includes almost you need for a weekend of basic experimentation. I could list the contents, but I prefer to show you…
The items have variable levels of quality, so I will give you my impressions of each item in the Review section followed by a general impression in the Verdict section.

Review
Feather Tickler (x1)
This is your very basic feather tickler used in sensation play. The quality is on the low end, but it is an effective tickler, specially when used by the right person on the right person. (+)
Mini Flap Paddle (x1)
I was gladly surprised by this item. Made of PU Leather, this mini paddle is the type that makes more noise than impact but still packs a sting when used by the right person – while avoiding major damage caused by harder, bigger paddles. (+)
Breathable Gag Ball (x1)
This is maybe the item I liked the least. The gag ball is ABS plastic, meaning it could be uncomfortable for a beginner. Still, I liked the strap which is pretty decent for a “experimentation” kit. (0)
Rope Bundle (x1 at approx. 21 ft long)
The rope is your beginner’s cotton rope – perfect for this type of set. The approximately 21 feet of soft rope is more than enough for the rookie rope bondage couple to get a grip on how it feels to get tied down – and how it feels to tie down someone! (+)
Adjustable Nipple Clamps (x2)
This was another nice surprise. These nipple clamps are adjustable, which are perfect for beginners. Love the jingle bells, which add a sound component to possible stress of the person using the clamps. (+)
Flexible Cuff Sets (x2)
These cuffs are basic but feel much more expensive than they should. The interior is soft and supple, perfect to avoid inconvenient marks (who wants to explains marks at work on Monday?). The cuffs can be used in either the wrists or the ankles and are big enough to accommodate even the largest people. (+)
Collar (x1)
The collar is just like the handcuffs – basic but feeling much more expensive than it is. Have in mind this collar is designed mostly for females in the “One Size Fits Most” category. If you have a neck bigger than 16 inches, I would NOT recommend this collar. Still, if you are in the S – L measurements, this one is a plus! (+)
Blindfold (x1)
This is another of the items I would substitute after experimenting during the weekend. It feels flimsy, but for a beginner’s level is alright. (-)
Collar Strap (x1)
Simple and basic, but exactly what is needed. You can change it later with a dog leash if you want… (0)
Mini Flogger (x1)
Light and small, it is one packing a sting, so be careful with it. It a nice introductory flogger that can always be part of your BDSM kit. (+)
Cross Strap (x1)
One of those things you do not know you need in your kit – until you need it. This strap makes tying someone in a hogtie a matter of seconds instead of minutes. If playing with more than one person, you will find this strap can be used to create certain interesting situations when used with ropes.
Verdict：
In general, I found the 11-in-1 Utimi BDSM Bondage Set a worthy addition to a beginner’s BDSM practitioner. It is designed with the experimental couples in mind – you know, those who watched 50 Shades last weekend and want to check out was what all the fuzz about. More seasoned kinksters will find some of the items valuable for travel or occasional use – mainly the cuffs, collar, and paddle. Other of the items – gag ball, rope, blindfold, and tickler can be easily upgraded with a minimal investment to make some of these items more acceptable to individual preferences.
Personally, I will recommend this kit for my friends who want to get into BDSM. They wont spend a lot of money – and will have lots of fun!
